Beer duty, £135 lla tod GtEonac Thomas & Co. report produce price* as follows :— Owing to the holidays, business during the week has been exceedingly quiet, and there is little alteration on last week's prices. We quote flour from £3 10s to £10 10s per ton ; pollard, £3 15s and bran £3 10s per ton; fowls' wheat, plentifully supplied and ruling from Ss 6d per bushel ; there is •very little enquiry for oats, at short milling 2s to 2s 3d. and common to fair feed Is 9d to 2s ; oatmeal is unaltered at J59 5s to £9 10a ; oaten straw chaff, £3 to £3 ss ; sheaves, £4 to £4 5s per ton : barley, Ss to Bs_2d ; beans. 3s lOd to 4s ; maize, 4s to 4s 3d respectively ; old potatoes continue scarce, and met ready sale at £2 16s per ton for good quality ; onions are rather plentiful, and little demand at £9 10s to £10 per ton ; new cheese, 4d to 4J ; old do, 2d per lb ; hams and bacon, bare Bd, clothed BAd ; fanners' cure, 2d to 4d ; new potatoes are plentiful at 5s to 6s 6d : green peas, 4s to 4s 6d per sack ; rhubarb, 4s per do* ; eggs, la to la Id per. Realisations at auction yesterday— Melbourne Florence cherrie3 (of which there were only a few cases), 20s per j-case ; Ollean plums, 10s 6d ; cherry plums, 6s 6d to 7s 6d per A-case. There was a brisk demand for Bydney oranges at 15s to 18s per case; lemons, 10s; pears, 14s to 16s per case ; American apples, 16s to 20s : Sydney do, 12s to 14s.
