The settling over the late meeting of the Manawatu Racing Club took place lmt night, -when the following amounts were authorised to be paid over t— 3. L. Oliver, J895; P. Hill, £50; D. Thnrston, A. J. Hoskins, £46; J. P. Belcher, £40; S. Powell, £20 ; H. Monteith, .£25. Total, ¦£315. An effort is to be made to have the next meeting iv March— a two days' gathering instead of one day, as at present ; and a meeting of the committee is to be held next week to decide on the matter. The Exhibition continnes to be v a big draw. During the last two days nearly J2IOO has been taken, and the total up to the present is about £350. Is is expected that there will be a sum of from .£250 to £300 to the credit of the hospital building fond when all expenses are paid.
