A GALLANT TAB'S REWARD. THE FRENCH COPPER SPECULATIONS [SPECIAL TO UNITED PRBSB ASSOCIATION, I London, 28th Decembor. The P. and 0. Company aro building two steamers at Greenock for the Australian trade. 29th December. The Royal Humane Society have awarded a medal to George Deer, one of the crew of H.M.S. Nelson, for his gallantry in trying to Bavo the life of Major Robilliard, when one of the boats belonging to the Nelson capsized in a squall. The copper syndicate in Franco is being bitterly opposed, and it h»a been suggested that the Government should prosecute the members of the syndicate for illegally conspiring.
