Dangers of Railway Travelling. NARROW ESCAPE OF A LADY PASSENGER.
|BT TEL*<JrAPH.J (drfr Own Corredpord,eiA\\ H'ht, Tftfl Dat.' ( Yesterday afternoon, when the train rcaohod Kai Iwi, there was a. narrow escape from a fatal accident. Mrs. Guard, of Port Under wood , was a traveller, and Rot out of the train for somo purpose. As she was getting on again the train moved, and her foot caught in a wheel. She was thrown to tho ground, but, fortunatoly, the driver had Been her predicament and stopped tho train instantaneously, otherwise the wonld have been killed to a certainty. When taken out her foot was wedged between the wheel and the body of the carriage It was found that, she had some foes broken, .her shoulder splintered, and two ribs broken. She was taken to the Patoa Hospital where Bhe now lies.
