The Woodville Nomination.
[By Telegraph.] ( Our Own Correspondent.)
Woodville, This Day. At the nomination on Saturday, Mr. Baker, who had the show of hands, abused the Government in unmeasured terms, and spoke vory derisively of Mr. Ballance. The nomination, from beginning to ond, was a complete farce. Mr. Baker's supporters were mustered for ton miles around so that they might have tho show of hands, which after all only amounted to 50. Mr. Baker at the conclusion of his speech waved his little finger in the air, snouting in a very loud voice, "I have more in that little finger than Mr. Ballance has in his whole body," amid roars of laughter and derision. Mr. McCardle held a meeting at the drillshed on Saturday night and deolared he would not support the Government if elected. He accused Mr. Smith of being untruthful amid loud cheers from Mr. Baker's supporters.
