♦ |Bt Teligeaph. I {Our Own Correspondent.) Wanqanoi, ThisDat. Captain Sommerrille, Chairman of the New Zealand Eifle Association, informs me that from information he has received steps are already being taken at Oamaru with a view to render next year's meeting a success. He states farther that no definite information is at present obtainable respecting new rifles, and that if it appears likely that MartiniHenrys will not be oat in time, he will make application to the Defence Department for 400 of the new Sniders lately out from Home to be served ont to members of the New Zealand Eifle Association. A change is likely to be made in firing off the final for the belts next year , twenty-five being allowed to fira for each in place of twenty, and if there is only one belt fifty-five in the final stage.
