THE QUEEN'S DRIVE. TO THE EDITOK.

Sir — The proposition to construct a continons drive round the rocks, Evans Bay, Ac, to Island Bay is well timed, and should receive general support. But the proposal would be more complete if it included a properly-constrnoted esplanade from tho baths, along Clyde-quay and Oriental Bay to the city boundary. This would be more appreciated by a considerably larger section of tho community than the proposed drive, and should not bo vory oxpensive, as a large number of the unusod concrete slabs, korbing, Ac, now getting overgrown with moss and weeds at the Thorndon end could bo removed to where they aro really needed. It is therefore to bo hoped that our oitizens will devote soino portion of their Jubileo subscriptions towards the constrnotion of the Yiotoria Esplanade. lam, £c, Fbakcis Stevens. Oriental Bay, Oth May.
