Ltttelton, 6th May. Tho a.s. Tekapo, in attempting to leavo Wellington Heads on Wednesday afternoon, got one of her boats and her lower bridgo damagod. She ran baok and remained till yesterday morning. Donedik, This Dat. The announcement published in Wellington and elsewhere that the Tekapo has been chartered by Howard Smith and Son to run between Molbourne and Sydney is contradicted by the Union Company. The vessel has not been chartered by anyono, and will remain in the New Zealand-Sydney trade.
