New Plymouth, This Day. Tenders for the construction of the new Hospital were opened to-day. All being i above the Board's limit, it was decided that a committee be appointed to deal with the two lowest tenders with a view to reducing the samp, the committee having power to aooept either of the tenderß. The figures of the tenders are not yet to be made pnblio. Miss Shawcross, returning from a ride in company with her brother, suddenly fainted and fell backwards in her saddle. Her brother instantly came to her assistance, and was trying to support her with his arm when the horse he was riding jumped away, throwing him to the ground, Miss Shawcross falling too. Mr. Shawcross was able to pick himself np, but was obliged to obtain assistance to get his sister carried home, as she was still insensible and was bleeding profusely from tho head. Miss Shawcross is still confined to her bed through the injuries. I
