O'Neil (seorotary). The clorgy waro woll represented, there being present on the ground besides those gentlemen already mentioned, Bishop Bedwood and tho Eev. Fathers M'Namora (administrator of the diocese), Sauzeau, S. M. lo Monant do Chcsnais, Kerrigan, Souloa and Lano, Dr. Watters, and Fathers Devoy and Braxmior (St. Patrick's College) were also present. The traffic arrangements of the railway authorities wero excellent, and, without nndue hurry or confusion, upwards of 1500 picnickers were safely convoyed to the Lower Hutt during the day. Fifteen started, and the race, which was a most oxoiting one, caused groat amusement. This event concluded a capital programme. Tho holiday makers returned to town at 6 o'clock, after having spent a most pleasant day.
