At Flemington slight showers fell during the night, preventing any fast work being done* this morning, but the weather is now clearing" up. There was a large attendance at Tattersail'* l*et night, and Silvermine was made & firmer favourite than ever at 100 to SO. Britisher and Little John are quoted at 8 to 1. Mentraore has been booked to win .£SOOO at 100 to 3, and is now quoted at 100 to 4. Lesbia in quoted at 100 to 5, but 100 - to 4 is wanted. Silvennine and Sheet Anchor have been heavily backed for tlie Melbourne Cup at 100 to 4 each.
