The Dunedin Harbour Board.
♦ EXTRAOBDINAEY STATE OP AFFAIRS. [Bt Tmjegrapb.] [united press association.] Dunedin, 14th October. At to-day's meeting of the Harbour Board one of the members wished to know why a deputation waited on Mr. Larnaeh. The Chairman said that the members nominated by Government had waited on the Minister to give him information abont how the money was being spent as between the Upper and Lower Harbour. It had come to ] their knowledge that pressure had been ■ brought on the Minister to take action criminally against members of the Board on the ground that there had been misappropriation of funds. Mr. Car gill, a nominated member, said that the matter was a serions 1 one. He complained of a clause introduced ' in the Harbour Board Act as an affront, and < said that Government were treating them as < if they were malefactors. He felt inclined j to retire from each a position. After an c animated discussion, the matter dropped. ]
