Important Life Insurance Case.

[By Telegraph.] [united press association. I Wanganui, This Day. At tho Supreme Court to-day tho case of tho National Mutual Life Insurance Company v. London, a canvasser for the Government Insurance, was commenced. The claim is one of J2CDO, for alleged slanderous statements made by London in trying to get business, to the effect that tho National Mutual was not sound, and must soon come to grief at the rate it was paying for now business ; and further, that it took lives without medical examination. Mr. Chapman, of Wellington, appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. Barnicoat, of Wanganni, for the defendant. Tho plaintiff's e\ idence up to tho midday adjournment was generally corroborative of the statements made in the claim.
