Want, solicitor for New South Wales, registers the Pacific Cable Company with a capital of two millions. The Jubilee Exhibition Committee have asked the Duke of Cambridge to apply for ,£l5OO towards the expense of British art exhibits. Sir Coutts Lindsay will be willing to send the whole of the Grosvenor collection ■ if a special admission charge of one shilling is made, or will give them free if allowed .£l5OO for expenses. Twenty-two thousand feet have been appl ; ed for by Messrs. Elkington and Co., for electroplate exhibits. The sister of Professor Holloway, of pills and ointment fame, intends to dispute her brother's ■will. Thirty thousand pounds worth of Australian wines have been imported this year. Mr. Donald Larnaoh, Chairman of th« Bank of New South Wales, wi'l be a passenger by the Austral, which sails on 13th November. Mr. William Wilson, of Victoria, will be entertained at a banquet on the 20th inst. 13th October. Cable last night should read : — The prospectus of the Kapanga Gold-Mining Company, Coromandcl, with a capital of £80,000, ha= been issued. Neil Mattcrson, the Australian sculler, sails for Australia in the Lnsitania tomorrow.
