The increasing importance of Wellington and the surrounding district is creating ample room for the establishment of another financial institution. It is therefore determined to float the above Company, with the following objects in view : — Ist. To assist persons desirous of aoquiring property. 2nd. To utilize savings to the best advantage, by enabling persons to contribute according to their means, and by proper investment to secure the highest available rate of interest. 3rd. To enable persons desirous of borrowing on security of property, to do so at a fair rate of interest and to provide an easy mode of liquidating the principal. 4th. By conditions of contributions for shares, and' by various table, to provide moans for accumulating funds to meet any special requirement, such as endowment for children or provision for old age. The Company will be essentially mutual in its operations, as its entire aim will be to promote the best interests of borrowers and lenders by becoming tho medium of business botween them, and so secure a fair share of advantage to each. ' To the working man an opportunity will be given to invest Barings in the most advantageous manner possible. To the man of some small means there will be a safe mode of realising the highest rate of interest for his money without any care or anxiety on his part as to the issue. To the capitalist thorp is> an opening for him to utilise some portion of his wealth in a useful and profitable manner. Tho want of such a Company as proposed is distinctly felt, oven in these comparatively dull times. The scheme, thereforo, is launched with the greatest _ assurance of suocesß, as it must be admitted that the tendency will bo for values to improve immediately the oloud of depression lias passed away from the oommereial world. As confidence returns, undertakings such as this will be carried forward on tho sucooeding ware of prosperity. EXPENSES OP MAVAO-EMBNT. Arrangements are boing made to have the expenses of management on a most economical scale, aB also the legal work. SHARES. Sharos will bo of tho nominal valuo of .£lO each, but it is not intended to make provision to call up at presont moro than per share. This amount will be payable in either one of two ways as may bo selected : — Class I—ss1 — 5s on application, 5s on allotment, and monthly instalments ef 5s per share for eighteen conseoutivo months after allotment, as shall bo dirocted. Tho Board of Directors may permit any such shareholders to pay in advance of the stipulated timo and securo a corresponding benefit, in dividend or intorost, as may bo arranged. Class 2— By monthly payments under special tablo, extending ovor poriods of five, Bix, eight, or ton years, as shall be solooted ; 4>he shares being deemed to bo duly paid up to £X> each when tho whole of tho instalments are paid as agroed upon, until which period the holders of such shares do not othorwiso participate in the Company's profits. The general principle aimed at ia — That tho intorests of all concerned shall bo purely reoiprooal ; the main features being — 1. To provide capital whereby residents arid others will bo enabled to acquire property, freehold or leasehold, in town of country, by means of easy periodical repayments whioh leave a reasonable margin of profit to 'the Company, while being amply protected in point of seourity. 2. To enable persons possessed of land to erect buildings thereon, either by progresspaymonts or in a lump sum, repayable by instalments, or at tho expiration of a fixed poriod of years. 3. To receive deposits, and to afford a safe and profitable investment both for capitalists and during 1 accumulation of smaller savings by others. 4. To grant loans to members on the valuo of their shares ; and, generally, to encourage in every possible way — consistent with sound socurity— members in tho direction of thrift and independence, by enabling them readily to acquire property, and particularly to obtain a comfortable, freohpld home without incurring the exhorbitant charges which so frequently attend private arrangements. 5. It must be obvious to every resident, and to, every observer of the extraordinary progress of these localities, that this Company will provide for. an absolute and urgent necessity which exists at the_ present? time. 6. It is consequently believed that the residents, and tho public generally, ' will warmly welcome and support the advent of such on institution, the first in the district. 7.
