« The following report of the Public Works Committee will be brought up at the meeting to-morrow :—l.: —l. That the application of Mr. W. Moxham, for a right of road on the west side of the Bection of Town Belt at the end of Aro-street. be not granted. 2. That Wordsworth-street, from Willis-street to the bridge, be kerbed and channelled in accordance with the report of tho City Surveyor. 3. That the reserve of Hutchisonroad be fenced as recommended by the City Surveyor. 4. That a J-inoh water service be granted to the Star Boating Club for their new building on the reclaimed land. 5. That a I^-inch water main be laid down in Bus Bell-terrace. 8. That notice under tho Public Health Act be served upon the owners of some houses in Adelaide-road, near Drum-mond--street, to fill up the back parts of the sections so as to allow of drains being laid. 9. That notice be served upon Mr. Crawford to removo that portion of his house standing upon the line of Ghuznee-street. 16. That tho Corporation insurances for the year commencing on the 24th instant, be given to the Colonial Insurance Company, as last year. 6. That the portion of the Tinakori-road near the Botanical Gardens be repaired at once. 7. That an asphalt crossing be laid across Customhouse-quay, opposite the premises of the Australian Mutual Provident Society. 11. .33hat the sum of ..£2O bo paid to Ly Hong, Chinese gardener, at, compenEa- ! tion for the damage to his property through Jo °verflowill& °f the Tasman-street culvert. 12. That accounts amounting to .£476 7s lid be passed for payment. 13, The Committee beg,further to report that three tenders were Bent in for the construction of the Tasman-street culvert, but that the lowest of them was considerably fibove the estimate of the City Surveyor. The Committee consequently did not accept any tender, but instructed the City Surveyor to ascertain whether.bricks can bo obtained at any other place in the colony, with the view of carrying out the ¦wort by Corporation labour.
