CITY COUNCIL.
The following is the report of the Publio Works Committee to be presented to-morrow evening: — The Committee beg to recommend—l. That no aotion bo taken at present in tho matter of the proposed formation of a new street between Brougham-street and Kont-torroce. 2. That a brick and pipe drain be laid along Dixon-streot from Quinetroet to Taranaki-plaoo. 3. That the north aide of Sydney-street be channelled. 4. That one side of Pirie-street, from Broughamstreet to Anstin-Btreet, be kerbed. 5. That a 9in. drain bo laid in Suseox-equare, from Dock-street northwards. 6. That the Wellington Rowing Club be permitted to ereot a boat-shed on the foreshore between the Te Aro Baths and Taylor's boat-shed, on condition that the olub undertakes to remove it whenever called upon to do so. 7. That a cab-stand be established in John-son-street, as suggested by the Inspector of Nuisances. 8. That the use of the Basin Eoserve be granted free of charge to the friendly societies on the occasion of tha forthcoming demonstration, with power to make a charge for admission, subject to tho condition that a guarantee be given that no damage shall be done to the ground or its surroundings. 9. That the request of Mr. J. L. Kimbell for compensation for alleged damage to bis goods through the overflowing of the drain on Lambton Quay benotaooedod to. 10. That the price to be oharged to the Petone Town Board for water be 9d per 1000 gallons. 11. That professional and witnees fees in the case of Hunter v. Corporation, amounting to .£9B lßs ld, be passed for payment, li. That aooounts for supplies, Ac, amounting to £161 6s 2d be passed for payment.
