[P*B S.S. WAKATIPU.] ■ ♦ Stdniy, 26th May. The extreme dry weather continues, and means are being devised to bring water for tbe supply of Sydney from Soarborongh Park, a short distance from tho oity. The whole place presents a most parched appearance. Archbishop Moran has deolined the Governor's invitation to dinner on the Queen's birthday, as he wasexpeoted to give preoedenoe to Bishop Barry Sir. Dalley recently entertained the Bench and Bar, on the occasion of the presentation of the Chief Justice's portrait. Some interesting early reminiscences were related by Sir James Martin and Sir Alfred Stephen. A grand review and demonstration is to be held in the middle of next month on the return of the contingent. The two cruisers Moißilia and Lusitania are now lying in harbour. The latter hod a trial trip, which was considered admirable. The Cabinet have deoided that the Post Office carvings ore to be removed.The Treasurer continues indisposed. Brisbane, 26th May. Mr. Musgrave, Private Seoretary to the Governor, will probably aooompany the Paoifio Islanders to their homes, in place of Mr. Romilly, who is invalided.
