News is to hand from Dongola that messengers who have returned there from the direction of Berber state that no doubt can now be entertained that Colonel Stewart and the whole of his party were massacred by the rebels at Wadel Hhomar. jjONdon, 27th October. Papers in regard to the Soudan have boon kid before Parliament. Thoy show that General Gordon considers it impossible to leave Khartoum ungovorned ; that Lord Wolseley's instructions are to bring away General Gordon and Colonel Stewart from Khartoum, and that lie is forbidden to undertake any ulterior operations. It is further shown that England and Egypt have decided to refuse to govern the territory of the Soudan lying south of Wady Haifa.
