[EEDTBE'S TKIiKGBAMS.I (Received November 8, 11.20 a.m.) London, 7th November. A most disastrous explosion has occurred in the Monkfield Colliery, at Aocrington, near Blackburn, Lancashire. According to the latest news to hand, fully one hundred men are entombed in the mine, and it is feared all have perished. Alexandria, 7th November. Reports have reached, here from the Soudan that El Mahdi, the False Prophet, and leader of the rebellion in Kordofan, is dead. Amsterdam, 7th November. The Executive Commissioners for the Netherlands have made a recommendation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs that decorations should be conferred upon the representatives of the Australian oolonios at the recent Exhibition in this city. (Received November 8, 12.40 p.m.) London, 7th November (Evening). Latest reports from Accrington state that the entombed miners in the Monkfield Colliery have been rescued. Paeis, 7th November. Official despatches from Tonquin announce that Admiral Combet has decided to postpone until next month his projected advance against Bac Nink. Telegrams are also to hand stating that the Chinese are preparing to offer a desperate resistance to the French attack.
