Upon their being observed, a brisk fire was opened upon tho men from the outposts, The cavalry returned tho fire, and a fusillade was kept up for some time. The enemy, however, ultimately retired. A British convoy proceeding to Ramses wab attacked near that place to-day by a strong force of Bedouins. The guard attending the convoy repelled the attack with vigour, and the Bedouins were repulsed and made off.
