- - MEETING. This meeting was held on Boxing Day. j The weather was everything that could be desired, and about 1500 people were present Following are the results of the principal -¦•vents: — Hubdle Race, 30 soys; 2 miles, over 8 flights of hurdles; welter weight for age.
Triootrin, Maid of Athol, Bueh Gat, Black Diamond, Mountain Hare, and Jennie also started. Won by half a length. Bush Bat broke down badly. Triootrin finished last. Manawatu Racino Club Handicap of 100 soys; second horse to receive 15 soys out of the stakes; 2 miles.
Venture, Bat 31b, Sir Tatton. 7st 121b, Banshee, 7st4lb, Camelia 7at, also started. Camelia out out the running, with Banshee and Dan in close attendance, Sir Tatton fourth. The last-named seemed short of work, and ran indifferently. Coming into the straight, Orphan came through the field, and with Dan ran a slashing race home, the Wanganui hack suffering defeat by a head, two lengths separating second and third. Tatton was the favourite on the totalisator. Time, Sniin. 29iseo.
Aorangi Bst, Warego 7st 91bs, and Lnln 7st 3ibs also started. Won veiy easily.
