SALE OF THE LEVY ESTATE BY T. KENNEDY MACDONALD & Co. ? The auction salo of the Levy Estate, by Messrs. T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co,, took place yesterday, and was in every respect a great success, whether the largo attendance that it drew or the very satisfactory prices that were realised be taken into consideration. This result may be attributed, if not entirely, at least in a great degree, to the very extended and highly judicious publicity given to the Balo, and the advantages arising trom investment in the lots offered, through the advertising columns of the Press. At the sale the large aucti->n room was crammed with all sorts and conditions of men. In his opening remarks, before offering any of the. lots, Mr. Macdonald pointed out that property was rising in value every montn, that the early commencement of the Wellington and Manawatu Bailway, the discovery of valuable auriferous reefa at Terawhiti, the assurance that a new loan would be sanctioned by the latelyeleoted Parliament, and a general commercial improvement tended to show that a bright future was in store for Wellington.
