The Returning Officer declared the poll for Wairarapa North at noon to-day. One vote was struck off Renall at Masterton, and one off Beetham at Tau»ru, leaving Beetham a majority of 319. Prosecutions for impersonation will be taken.
[UNITED PBEBB ASSOCIATION. I Wanganut, 13th December. At the official declaration of the poll today there was no alteration in the returns, W. H. Watt being elected by a majority oi four. Dunedin, 13fch December. The following is the official declaration of the poll for the Moeraki distriot, giving M'Ken zie a majority of 299, instead of 291, as previously Btated :— M'Kenzie, 3M; Williams, 165; Muroott, 130. .-.^^— » This Dat. Dunstao polling — Pyke, 530 ; Fraser, 482. Inveecahgill, 13th December. The declaration of the poll for Wallace has been postponed. Yesterday's scrutiny was apparently in favour of Mr. Hirst, the Ministerial candidate, Mr. Daniel, the Opposition man being nut second by one vote. Evidence was produced to-day that the supposition that one person voted twice on one qualification is an errcr, and that there are really two distinct persons of the same name and both being on the roll. New Plymouth, 13th December. The Returning Officer has officially declared the result of the polling for the town of New Plymouth. The numbers were — Kelly, 328 ; Brown, 173. Mr. Kelly was the only candidate present. Auckland, 13th December. The declarations of the poll for City West, Eden, Parnell, and City East, took place to-day. In the firat three electorates the defeated candidates never appeared. Sir George Grey made a lengthy speech at ihe City Kaat declaration, stating that it wonld probably be found that a majority of the men in the new Parliament are Liberals. Gentlemen had been put down in the lists as Ministerialists who hid sent him telegrams of an opposite character. He regretted the defeat of Messrs. De Lantour (?), J. T. Fisher, and Hallance. He thought a clean sweep must be made of the Ministry before the country could prosper or jnstice be done to the people. Mr. J. M. Clark bitterly referred to attempted personal violence to himself at the close of the poll by a section of Sir George Grey's followers ; but he acquitted fcir G«org9 Grey of sanctioning or approving it. The scrutiny into the Pranklyn. North election in the interest of Bnokland did not alter the result of a majority of two for Major Harris. Mabton, This Dat. Official declaration of Rangitikei poll:— Stevenß, 487 ; Fox, 465. Mr. Stevens waa declared elected. Balclutha, This Dat. The Clutha election poll waa officially declared at noon to-day :— Thonwon, 286; Jowitt, 227. Thomson and Jowitfc both addressed the few electors present.
