Wind — Between east and north-west at all places north of Napier and between south-wast and north-west at all *th«r places ; wind backing. Barometer— Further tisa generally, but falling again after 16 hours. Hba— laoreaae on western, decrease on eastern coast. Warnings for southerly winds backing to north-west have been sent to all places south of Eaikoora. SYNOPSIS OF IiABT 21 HOUHB. From Napier northwards the barometer has risen slightly, with northerly winds. From Napier to Fort Chalmers it has fallen slowly, with southerly winds, and from Fort Chalmers to Bluff it has risen, with winds from south-eass and east The weather has been generally moderate. He ivy rain has fallen at Mongonni. BMi Grahamstown, and much lightning was seen to the southward ot Hokitika during the night. The sea has been heavy on the eastern coast. B. A.
