WOOL SALES. Mr tang (on behalf of theNZ. Loan £ Mercantile Agency Company) yesterday held the first of a series ot wool sales in tbe Conpany'i new sale rooms. Tkere was a goo* attendance, and tke following sales were effected :— Wool :— Grepßy— Dartaorosßed.Q bales merino Did ; JH, 2 bales cross-bred, B|d ; blank, 2o bales, cross-bred. indifferently skirted, Bd; AO.Hontley Form, 5 baleß. cross-bred, 9d; N, 2 bales, Komaey Marsh, BJd ; AFP, 3 bales do, 8d ; Manngaraki, 110 pockets, carefully sorted, fine cross-bred. 9gd Bconred— HOWE, 4 bales oourße cross-bred, 9Jd; 2 balea do, Old ; 1 bale do, 9d ; Id, Petoni, 1 bale, Is : 1 bale do, lOJd ; 1 bale. fIJcL Washed— JP. 4 baleß, Is Pieoeß— Sundry bales, from id to Bid per lb. Locks— Sundry parcels from 2d to 3£d perlb. Altogether, 108 bales and 110 pockets were offered, and, with the exception of some 20 bales, the whole was quitted at satisfactory ' Bhbhpskinb— Merimo, in bales, np to Bid per lb ; cross-bred, loose, fall wool, from 6d to 5Jd per lb ; mixed and medium quality, from 4d to 4 Jd per lb ; lamb skius, np to Is 2d eaoh. A large qmaatity was offered and oleared at above rates Tallow— Mutton, from £28 to £29 10s per ton ; mixed from J826 to £28; inferior, from £21 to £23 105. Hides— Baited hides in fair condition realised from 3id to Bjd per lb.
