THE GOLDEN RULE.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE BVJBNINO POST. Sra— l wonder if Mr. George Fisher ever thinks of the golden rule. He considers that the salaries paid to the Corporation officials are far too high. What does he think of his own (.£3OO a year, for three or four months' work, and very often a bonus besides) ? He would not like if any member proposed to reduce his extravagant salary, or suggested that the Government should give him something to fill up his time during tho recess. It is not long since the pruningknife was applied to the Corporation officials, and their salaries brought down as low as was considered consistent with efficiency. They may very well be left alone now. If he had to do as much work for the i money he receives he would not now be a candidate for the Mayor's chair, lam, 4c, Fair Play.
