It contains nothing that is deleterious, and may be safely mixed with food, it possesses the antiseptic properties attributed to it, and to a very remarkable extent. A tea-spoonfnl of a solution, obtained by dissolving four ounceß in a pint of water, when added to a quart of fresh milk, will arrest all change except the rieirg of the cream, and prevents the milk from turning sonr or thickening when standing exposed to the air for a period of at least five days in warm weather. — Jahxs Hector."
