♦ [Br Telegraph J [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, 2 1st November. Sanmcl Maungakia, a chief, residing in Auckland, is a candidate for the Western Maori Electoral District. He declares himself a Liberal. Westpobt, 21st November. Mr. George has retired from the election contest. •Abhbuhton, 21b{; November. Mr. E. G. Wright, ex-member for Coleridge, and candidate for a seat for Aehburton- Electoral District, addressed a meeting, in the Town Hall this evening. There Were' about 350 persons present, and he received a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.
