Eight escapees from the French penal settlements at New Caledonia have baen captured at Frasor Is'and, off the coast of this colony, near Maryborough. They had been thirteen daya at aea in an op9n boat. 1 hey were brought up at tho Maryborough Police Court today, and remanded to Brisbane. This Day. A boat containing a fishing party of five capsized in the bay yesterday, and four of the occupants wero drowned. Time fresh cases of small-pox have been advised to tho Health Board. The sufferers and the infected houses in Liverpool, Sussex, and Cooper-streot<3, have all been quarantined.
