WEATHER FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS FROM 9 A.M. TO-DAY.
Wind— Between north-east and north-west at all places northward of Lyttelton and between south-east and moith-east at all other places. BABoAriTER— Further fall at all stations. Sea— Heavy on.both coasts. WARNTNas for easterly gales and heavy rain have been sent to all stations BYNOPBIB OP LAST 48 HOUBB. Northerly winds continued everywhere northward ot Lyttelton dming Saturday and increased on the Weßt Coast of the Middle Island to a strong gale with much rain ; but between liyttelton and the Bluff the wind changed to the bouthward in the evening, and soon increa'edtoa hard gale, which continued until Bunduy morning. At moat of tbe stations from Napier southwards the barometer rose on Haturday night, but it fell again during Bunday, and from Napier northwards it has fallen etoacJily since Saturday with northerly wmds which during Sunday night increased to a gale with much rain at places between Auckland and the East Gape
