Tflif V^taTfjffi Higlnn.il _117 was kept harcntl work fGc' several .KouFlT \ Acting uuder t instructions from tho Government, Dr. Diver was also present', and ho, too, was busily occupied throughout the morniner, and a portion of the aftornGon, in medically examining the men, with a view to ascertain whether they were in a sufficiently sound condition to proceed to 'the anticipated scene of aotion. With a single exception the whole of the men who offered themselves for service wore found to bb in exoellont condition, and with evident eager* ness immediately commenced to " rig them* selves out " in their new belongings. In th casa of the exception alluded to, the man, who to outward appearances oertainly looked strong and active enough to acoompany his comrades, seemed quite disappointed and downcast on being deprived of the opportunity of doing so. Not only wero the barracks rendered lively by the presence of the Navals, but additional animation was lent to the occasion by the attend* ance of a large crowd of othoUß, including the " sisters, cousins, and aunts,' ' the men are about to leave behind them. Among those present, moreover, were four or five deserters from the barque Auatralind, now in port. These Constable Irfiurio was earnestly endeavouring to discern in the crowd, as it was anticipated ' that they wanted to enliat if possible, but up to tho time of our reporter leaving the spot, he had not succeeded in doing bo. Asalrekdy stated, tho men embark at 6 oVook thw evening at the Railway Wharf, and -will be under the command of Lieutenants Bennett and Davy and Assistant-Paymaster Keyworth. There can bo no doubt that a large concourfio of friends and well-wisheMi^riU 1 assemble to witness their departure and bid them " God speed." Altogether nearly 70 members of the Brigade will leave , in the steamer, and the following is a list of those who have Buocessfully passed Dry 'JWiora examination:— Geary, W. Watson, Rabe, W. J.
