ELECTION INTELLIGENCE.
Mr. Eugene O'Connor has declared himself for the Buller electorate. Messrs. Jno. Munro and J. R. George are also likely to De candidates. Auckland, 25:h October. Sir George Grey has returned to Kawau, suffering from indisposition. It was deemed advisable he should have some rest before the elections commence. Ji is understood that his return has also been influenced by the uncertain issue of Native 'affairs on the Weßt Coast, and the possibility that the present Parliament may yet have to be called together. Dunedin, 25th October. A requisition is in coarse of signature to Mr. W. D. Stewart to stand for Dunedin West. Captain F. W. Mackenzie is a candidate for Mataura. Invercabgill, 25th October. Mir. J. P Joyce, one of the candidates for Awarua, addressed a large meeting of the electors at Clifton to-night, and was accorded a vote of thanks. .He announced that if returned he would be found in opposition to tho present Government.
