A NEW MINISTER.

? Mr. Oliver has been invited to rejoin the Ministry with a seat in tho Cabinet, but without holding any portfolio. Mr. Oliver has accepted this offer, and will accordingly be appointed on the terms indicated. He will also bo called to the Legislative Council instead of standing for re-election to the House of Representatives. It should be distinctly understood that this ! appointment does not fill up tho longstanding vacancy in the Ministry. The law authorises the appointment of an eighth Minister without portfolio or salary, and it is in this capacity that Mr. Oliver will resume his seat in the Cabinet. There will Btill remain the old vacany to be filled up, and we are disposed to think that this will not be decided for some little time yet.
