The steamer Stella returned laßt night at 8 o'clock from Tory Channel, where Bhe went to land Mr. Scott, and 4 men, who are to erpct two new leading lights, bhe leaves for Gore Bay tonight to repair a couple of buoys. The b i. Wanaka left Nelson at 9 p m. on the 11th. and reached Pioton at 5 30 this morning ; left Qgiiin an hour afterwards, and arrived here at 11 40 a.m., having experienced 4ne weather throughout. She Bailed South this afternoon. . The a a Penguin arrived here at 12.15 this afternoon. She left Dunedin at 3 p.m. on the 10th and called at Aharoa at 5.30 a m.next day; left again at 7 30 and arrived at Lyttelton at 11.30 same morning; left again at 10.15 lest night and arrived here as above. Experienced fine weather all the wuy up the coast. She sails North to¦aorrrow. The b.b. Taiaroa left Port Chalmers at 5 p.m. on Sunday for Oamu.ru, where ahe took in cargo ; left the breakwater ut 5 p.m. on the 10th, had N.B. wind and flue weather, and arrived here at 230 this morning. Bhe left again this afteri noon for Fiji via Eust Coaßt and Auckland. The steamers Kiwi for the East Coast, and Jane Douglas for Kaikoura and Lyttelton, sailed last evening. The s b. Mohaka took her departure for Blenheim this morning, and the Pate a sailed for Fatea this afternoon. The departure of the steamers Btormbird and Euia has again been postponed until this evening. The schoonor Aspasia left for Foxton this morning. Messrs, Shaw, Savill & Co.'a barque Glenlora was taken up on the Patent Slip to-day for Cleaning, &o. The i>.b. Obarleß Edward should arrive from the West Coast and Nelson to-morrow morning. She returns same day. Th* Bteamer Graf ton will arrive from Nelson and west Coast ports this evening. She leaves again on Saturday for .Lyttelton. Captain Wheeler arrived from the South today by the a b. Penguin, and ia going over to Nelson for a holiday. Aa the atttamer Hawea ia undergoing au overhaul in dock, Captain Kennedy will take the Wakatipu to Sydney. Captain M'lntosh, of the a a. Maori, has been appointed to the steamer Southern Cross, and Mr. Hutton, formerly second engineer of the Botorua, has been promoted to ohief of the Southern Dross The tender of Meagre. Boberson & Co. for the repairs te the ironwork of the Bteamer Tui baa been accepted at v little under £300.
