THE MAYORALTY.
? TO THB EDITOR OP THE EVENING POST. Sib — The eccentric letter of " Fiat Justicia" in last night's Post deserves a little comment. I do not understand logic, but have enough of common sense to know that the same " logo" may be applied to all who draw pensions and large salaries from that "many dugged mother, the colonial company." I believe Mr. Hutchison's offering himself a^ain for Mayor to be owing to the bells of St. Peter's, that he fancied parodied th» bells in Bow Church in Dick Whittington's case, whioh said — " Turn-ajjain-Whit-tington - thrice - Lord- Mayor- of • Lon- don." And that the bells of St Peter's must have said — " Tnrn- again -Hutoh-i-son-six-times-Mayor-of-Wclling-ton." If the City Corporation really wish to be relieved of their "old man of tho sea," they have only to take off his salary, or e^on half, and ha wfll elideoff their aohing shonlders of hi 3 own accord. I am &c, Anti-Hdmbug.
