PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE.

+ This committee will ieport as follows at the next meeting of the City Council :— (1.) That after careful consideration of Mr. J. J. Curtis' claim, they cannot recommend that it be acoeded to. (2.) The committee beg to ieoommend (4) that the formation of George-street be prooeedod with, at an estimated cost of .£358, the same being included in the loan schedule. (5.) That the City Surveyor has been authorised to arrange with Mr. Plimmer as to damage likely to be oaused to his property by the aforesaid formation of George-stroet. (6.) That the sum of .£lO be paid to Mr. Thomas Sainsbury, in full of all claims, for damage to his property in Queenstreot. (7.) That tenders Jbe called for th 6 continuation of the Adelaide-road to the Town BeH ; aho for the further extension of the Te Aro drain. (8.) That a 4in water service be laid down to the Hospital. (9.) That the deputation formerly appointed to wait on the Hntt County Council again wait on that body with power to make final arrangements for the laying of the pipes along 1 the Hntt-rqad. (10.) That a road be opened aoroas section — , Town Belt Reserve, now in the possession of Mark Bird. (11.) That the formation of the remainder of the Newtown Recreation Ground be gone on with. (12.) That the centre of the same be turfed at the joint expense of the Council and the Cricketers' Association, the Council's contribution not to exceed £16. (13.) That a mowing machine be obtained for use in the oity parka. (14.) That accounts amounting to £383 4s 6d be passed for payment.
