PROLONGATION OF THE ANGLOFRENCH TREATIES. NEWS FROM TUNIS. | BKUTEB'S TELEGRAMS. | London, 16th September. Consols are unchanged at 99. New Zealand securities remain at following quotations :—5: — 5 per cent. 10-40 loan, 102J ; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 102£ ; 4£ per cent. 1:>791934 loan, 99£. The market rate of discount has advanced to 3f. The Bank rate remains at 4 per cent. Colonial breadstuff's are without quotable change. Adelaide wheat, ex store, 575 ; New Zealand wheat, ex store, 565. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain ia 1,830,000 quarters. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 41s. Australian tallow, best beef, has advanced Is, to 39a Sd ; and best mutton Is 6d, to 42a per cwt. An active demand continues for most descriptions of hideß ; best sides of Australian leather, 1 If d. At the wool sale to-day, 11,500 bales were offered. A fair demand was experienced. The accounts to hand from the Kent'sh hop-grounds give unfavourable reports of the state of the crop, which has been partially damaged by the recent excessive rain. It has been agreed between the French and English Governments that the present commercial treaties shall be further prolonged for a period of three months, from November next, when they would otherwise terminate. In the meantime, negotiations will be carried on between the two Powers with a view to bring about a permanent future understanding in regard to their commercial relations. Paris, 18th September. Telegrams have been received from Tunis announcing that the necessary repairs to the city aqueduct have been completod, and the water famine has now ended.
