Wool. — The pales progress firmly, though there is much irregularity in the biddings. Superior combing washed and combing washed markets are firmer ; faulty scoured is easier, and seedy and burry wools are negleoted. Up to date 159,000 bales have been sold ; 79,000 bales have been taken for export. Wheat. — The market is quiet. Reports are unfavourable for the growing crop here. Adelaide is worth 57s 6d and New Zealand 553 6d per 4961b5. Tallow. — The market is firm, best mutton being worth £39 10s, and best beef J637 10b per ton. Leather.— The market is quiet. Best sides are worth Hid.
