ADVANCE IN NEW ZEALAND WHEAT. THE ANGLO-FRENCH COMMERCIAL TREATIES. RESUMPTION OF NEGOTIATIONS. TERMINATION OF THE EGYPTIAN CRISIS. DESPATCH OF TURKISH TROOPS TO TRIPOLI. London, 13th September.
Consols have advanced to 99;. New Zealand securities remain at last quotations. An advance of one shilling has taken place in Adelaide and New Zealand whoat — the former being to-day quoted, ox store, at 575, and New Zealand average quality, ex Btoro, at 56a. Adelaide flour remains at 41s. Australian tallow— Best boef, 38a Gd ; bo9t mutton, 40s Gd. At the wool sales to-day, 9900 bales were catalogued. The domand is now ohiefly for medium and fine quantities. Inferior and faulty wools of all kinds are dull. 14th September. The communications which have lately passed between tha French and English Governments in regard to their commercial relations have resulted in an agreement being arrived that the negotiations for a ronowal of the Anglo-French treatios Bhall be resumed at Paris on the 19th instant. The race for tho St. Legor Stakes was run to-day at Doncaster, and resulted as follows : — Mr. P. Loiillard's Iroquoi3, 1; Mr. F. Gretton's Geologist, 2 ; Mr. Cookson'fl Lucy Glitters. 3. Ottawa, 14th September. Most destructive forest fires continue to rage in the Province of Ontario. In addition to quantities of farming stock, over one million dollars' worth of timber has been burnt. Constantinople, 13th September. It is annonnccd that a Commiasioner will be appointod by the Porte to enquire into the reoent military outbreak in Egypt. 14th September. Five thousand Turkish troops despatched to Tripoli nave arrived there, and have occupied various military positions in the country. Alexandria. 13 h September. Tho crisis in this country has now terminated, the leaders of the military rising having tendered their complete submission to the Khedive. Cherif Pasha has completed the formation of a new cabinet. He assumes the position of President of the Council of Ministers. Haidar Pasha is appointed Minister of Finance, and Mahomed Pasha Minister of War. [SPECIAL TO MELBOURNE PAPERS.] London, Undated.
