ANIMATED DISCUSSION IN THE MELBOURNE PRESBYTERY, VOTE OF CENSURE ON AN ELDER. Lbeuter's telegrams. I Melbourne, Bfh September. The Union Company's steamship Hero sailed this afternoon for New Zealand/ This Day. Tho Melbourne Presbytery, aftor a sitting lasting two days, has parsed, by 18 to 8, a vote of oensnre on Mr. J. U. Stowart, an Elder of tho Scots Church, for imputing dishonesty to certain believers in tho VVoatmiDstor Confession. Tho discussion on the question was most animated, and frequently took an angry tono on the part of membors of the Presbytery. Sydney, Bth September. Sailed, thig afternoon— R.M.S. Australia, for San Francißco, vid Auckland. At tho Randwick Spring Meeting to-day, tho race for the Craven Plate, 1} miles, resulted as follows : — Wellington 1'; Wheatear. 2; Etna, 3. The Sydney Handicap, 1J miles, was won by Waxy, Zulu second, and Warhawk third. Adelaide, Thi3 Day. Mr. Symon, in tho Legislative Assembly, lirb tabled a vote of censure on the financial administration of the Government.
