Wind— Between north-west and south-west in both Islands. Babovbteb— Rise within 12 hours at places southward of Kaikonra, and later at all other places. Bea— Heavy on western coast. Wabnimqs for southerly gales have been sent to all stationsSYNOPSIS OF XiABT 48 HOUBB. During Saturday and Sunday the baronaetar continued falling in all parts ot the colony. Strong north-east gales and much rain commenced at most of tho stations north of Napier on Saturday night, and continued during the greater put ot Sunday. In other parts ot the ooumtry th* -wimd did not generally ezoeed a freak breeze until Sunday night, when a hard northerly gale set in *t plaoea between Ly ttelton and the Bluff. «,_ o . B- A.
