ARRIVAL OF THE BARQUE ALEXA FROM LONDON.
The barque Alexa, 424 tons, Captain Bobb, owned by Messrs. W. & Q. Turnbull & Co , of Wellington, was signalled yesterday morning, but owing to the strong N. W. wind blowing had to anchor until this morning, when she commenced beating in, and anchored in the harbor shortly altar 12 o'clook this afternoon by Pilot Holmes. The barque comes from London this voyage, under charter to the N Z, Shipping Company, and left Graveseod on the evening of tbe u7th May. The Wave Queen, 853 tons, also for this port, left Grave send on tne morning of the same day, bo that OaptainJKobb oan congratulate himseif on having beaten not only a suuart vessel, but one double tbe Alexa's size. Owing to the late hour she arrived, we are unable to give a detailed report, but may state they ara all well on board Wnen tunning d'.wn the e&atiDg ene went aa far as 60 S , where she met witb strong favorable winds, and for five days averaged 250 knots a day. She does not bring any passengers. The barque will probably be berthed at the wbarf to-morrow.
