Every item of news is eagerly devoured which comes from the " Seat-of-war," for as Buch is regarded the Bcene where our brave little band are fighting so pluckily against such desperate odds. Sympathy and encouragement find expression in every possible way, and although the people of Nelson are by no means an excitable people, and, moreover, tho last in the colony to advocate or approve the stono* walling process, except nnder extreme provocation, they are now thoroughly aroused, and their members will be most heartily backed in resisting tho cruel injustice proposed to be passed upon them to the utmost of their ability. '1 he uncompromising attitude assumed by tho Ministry to thoso who have been their warmest supporters, iB a subject of muoh comment, and has given rise to no little disgust and dissatisfaction. There is much satisfaction expressed at the sympathy displayed towards tho Nelson members by tin Po^t, and it is earnestly hoped that the Wellington members will be awake to their own interests, and unite with Nelson in endeavouring to avert the supremacy of the South. _________
