Wind— Between north-west and south-west at all places northward ol Napier, and between north-east and north-west at all other places. Babometeb — further foil at all stations southward of Napier ; further rise from thence northward. Bea— Heavy on western coast and between Gaatlepoint and Kaikoura. Warnings for Houtherly gales have been sent to all plao6B southward of Napier. SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOUBS. Northward of Napier the barometer has risen but from thence southward it has fallen nearly two-tenths. There were strong southerly winds and a good deal of rain last night on the eastern coast, between Kaikoura and Jf overty Bay. R. A. EDWIN.
