Martha Browne, a very old offender, was charged with soliciting prostitution. Sergeant Andereon said ho was unable to produce the prisoner before the Court for the reason that she had stripped herself naked in her cell, and refused to dress hernelft Half an hour -subsequently, however, the prisoner appeared before the Magistrate en tUzhahille, and in a shaky condition Placed in tho dock, she mado a rambling statemont, in which sho oxpresaed her ignoranco of • what offenco she had committed, and said she wanted to be sent to gaol for uvo years, as sho fait very bod. •she was remanded till Tuesday. A NEGLECTED LAD. Thomas Cameron, a boy of abont 8 yearß of ago, was brought up as a neglected child. He was unablo to give a satisfactory account of himself beyond stating that his aunt, who lived in Haining-s'roet, had "kicked him out." The police were instructed to prosocute further inquiries concerning the lad's story. ON THE KOAD TO BIJIN. Christina Mo Arthur, a promising-looking • girl of 13^ years, was changed with being a nejjlectid child under tho Neglected Criminal Children Act. It was statod that for tb6 past fow months tho girl had been living in a houao of ill-famo iv Cuba-street, kept by women named Cavoll and Corbott, and froquented by sailor* and tho worst characters I in the town. Tho girl, who cried bitterly in Court, said her parents wore dead. she was committed to the Industrial School at Caverslmm for 18 months, to be brought up in tho Presbyterian faifh. IHB MART LOW. William Smith and Joseph Hainos, sa 4 lors belonging to tho barque Mary Low, appeared on remand on a charge of refusing duty. They now oxpressod their willingness to return to the ship, and wore accordingly released.
