PROSPECTUS OF THE WELLINGTON HARBOCTR STEAMBOAT COMPANY, LIMITED. CAPITAL, £6000, IN SHARES OF £1 EACH. Provi-ional Directors : Mesars. H Brown. E. J. Campion. Wm. Daw Eon. S. S. Downes. Wm. Earp. H. S. Fitzherbert. Jas. Gear. Captain Grant. Messrs. A. R. Hißlop. E. Jackson. C. Kohn. P. Laing. J. A. Lennie. — Mills. Hon. John Martin, M.L.C. Messrß J. W. Thompson. Andrew Young. E. Seager. Bankers : Bank of New Zealand. Solicitors : Buckley, Stafford, and Fitzherbert. Secretary, pro tern. : D. W. Bennett. Temporary Offices : Offices of Bennett and Co.. Commission Agents, Lambton Qnay. The objects of the Company are to purchase Steamers, suitable for uae in the Wellington Harbonr ; to establish direct communication between Wellington, Petoni, and Lowry Bay ; and to make daily trips round the harbour. It is intended to have constructed thoroughly first-class steamers with a high speed, to have elaborately fitted-np saloons, with every convenience : open, clear decks, with canvas awning over, and to carry from 200 to 250 passengers. Estimates have been cirefully prepared by practical gentlemen of the cost and annual working expenses of such steamers, also an estimate of the minimum returns, showing a large profit to shareholders. The promoters feel confident that the undertaking will speedily develop into an extensive company. The many advantages this harbonr has over other places where these steamboat companies have been such a success, is sufficient guarantee that a similar undertaking must pay well here. We have a large number of residents residing in the city and suburbs who will certainly patronise and support such a desirable undertaking, especially as it will bring within their reach the means of spending a thoroughly enjoyable day, and that, too, at very little expense. The fares both for ordinary traffic and pleasure excursions, will be exceedingly small, and such as will induce everyone to travel by the steamers. Petoni, where it is proposed to erect a substantial wharf, is now a rapidly rising township, and has already a large population. Land there is eminently adapted for building sites and manufactories. The beach at Petoni is undoubtedly one of' the finest in the colony, and during the summer months would attract daily a large number of visitors. Lowry Bay is well known too for its suitableness for pleasure exoursiona and picnics. The shares have been fixed at such a small figure, that everyone has an opportunity of taking an interest in this desirable undertaking. It is proposed to call up only 2s per share on application, 2s per share on allotment, and the balance by calls of 2s each, at intervale of not less than two months. Applications for Bhares will be received by the various members of the Committee ; at the offices of the Secretary, Mr. D. W. Bennett, Lambton Quay; and at the Bant of New Zealand and its various branches. The share list will close on the 20tli August, 1881. AH deposits on shares will be lodged wit! the Bank of New Zpa'and, at' Wellington, tc the credit of a special account.
