Consols 101 \. Bank rate of discount, 2J ; market rate, If per cent. New Zealand securities are unchanged. The total reserve in notes and bullion is £15,100,000. Australian and New Zealand breadstuffa and Australian tallow are without quotable change. The Union Bank of Australia has declared a dividend at the rate of 7 per cent, for the past half-year. A fair demand exists for most descriptions of Australian hides. A strong movement ia being made to organise a public banquet to the members of tho Cabinet as on expression of gratitude of the Liberals at the policy of the Government. The Daily News to-day p\iblishe3 a telegram from Lahore announcing that Ayoub Khan's troops have inflicted a defeat upon the Ameer's outposts in Candahar.
