Wind— Between south-west and south-east in both Islands. Barometer— Rise at all stations. bEA— Heavy on both coasts. Wabningb for Honthorly gales and unusually cold weather have been sent to all stations. SYNOPSIS 07 LAST 48 HOURS. At all places northward ot East Oape the barometer h&.a risen slowly since Saturday with westerly winds, but everywhere else it continued falling very slowly until bunday afternoon, and since then it has risen a little at places between Bluff and Ly ttelton. Exceptionally heavy rain bas fallen at most ol the stations between Auckland and Poverty Bay. E. A. EDWIN. 18th July.
