— Charles Allen and George Cook were fined each. LARCENT. John Long and Henry Duncan, seamen belonging to the schooner Julius Vog«l, were charged with stealing a bottle of brandy from the Theatre Royal Hotel yesterday afternoon. Long was further charged with stealing a handbell, value ss, the property of James Fenton From the evidence of Hetty James, a barmaid employed at the Theatre Eoyal Hotel, and Deteotive Benjamin, who arrested the prisoners, it appears that at 1 p.m. yesterday Long and Duncan entered the hotel and asked to be supplied with two half-pint 3of beer "on oredit." The barmaid refused to accede to the request, and whiio her back was turned Long snatched up a bottle of brandy and left the place with his companion. When arrested shortly afterwards tho brandy was still in their possession. Long pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing a hand bell, and said he was very drunk at the time of committing tho offence. Thero was another charge against the prisoner for breaking into the b.s. Kiwi and stealing a suit of clothes and a pair of blankets; but on aco> unt of the absence of witnesses the case could not be proceeded with. It was stated that the witnesses would be available on Tuesday next, and the prisoner b were therefore remanded till that day.
